This text is now considered outdated.
When one sacrifices himself, that person is known as a Martyr. This is also true in the abilities of people, as there is a rather wide vein of powers known as "Martyr".
The most documented types of Martyrdom are destructive and restorative. Two knights (whose identities will not be revealed in this study) of the current Genoan Knights allowed intrusive study into the nature of their Martyr powers so that we might learn a bit more about them. The results of those studies are as follows:
Restorative Martyrdom uses the essence of sections of the wielders body to restore the same sections in the body of others. However, as our subject showed, the ability could restore the very same section that was sacrificed. If used properly this method could provide instantaneous recovery from all but the most fatal blows.
Destructive Martyrdom, on the other hand, sacrifices the wielders body to inflict the same wounds upon others. This is sometimes known as "Voodoo Body", for the wielder acts as a kind of "Voodoo Doll" to cause pain and injury to others. This ability primarily used in a support role, as any fatal blow would also end the life of the wielder.
There are rumors of different types of Martyr powers, but there is no documented prove of these powers.
One such power is True Martyrdom. Such a power would allow the wielder to trigger a mechanism within their body to immediately and drastically effect them and their surroundings. There have been reports of such wielders detonating with extreme force, emitting poisonous gas, or even creating an immediate blanket of death in their near vicinity.
All True Martyr powers are fatal to the wielder.
