Ok people, so I hate doing this, but I'm going to anyway.
First off, for those of you who don't know, Oral Role Playing (or RPing) is more of a form of writing than it is a game. Each user controls one or more characters to weave an interactive story for all the users.
First off, let's talk about how to Role Play. This is subject to opinion, but for the most part the basic style is as follows.
~*~*~*~*~
Billy entered the room, and the smell of cheese quickly filled his lungs. Damn, thought Billy, I'm angry at the cheese and it's smell for entering my lungs, and this narrator for speaking the obvious!
Billy fondled with his things, before cursing out at the heavens, "I am Not fondling my things!!".
Suddenly a rock flew out of nowhere and sideswiped Billy.
*Thud*
Billy fell to the floor, unconscious.
~*~*~*~*~
And there is your basic formula.
Now lets get down to RULES.
1) No Godmoding. This is when a user oversteps his bounds, taking control of another users characters without their permission. This includes killing off other users characters, making them do things against the users will, and changing vital details in their story lines.
2) Don't be an idiot. This may seem like common sense to most people, but some people don't seem to get it. It is NOT fun to RP with bitches who get whatever they want through convenience. Here is a prime example.
Billy is trapped in a cell, the lock eyes him menacingly, foretelling his coming doom.
Billy: Billy quickly uses his random and totally new KEY CRAFTING POWER to create a perfect match for the cell door and escape to freedom.
Here we see that Billy is a sore looser and has no friends.
3) Don't harass people...unless they want it.
4) This is an RP, not Martha Stewards Cooking Corner. If someone wants to share recipes I will create another thread for that.
5) In short (and explaining 4), don't use the RP thread for random chatting.
6) Please OK your characters with me before you toss them into play. I will most likely OK them, I just don't want random hell-spawns of convenience.
7) 6 is actually a loose rule, unless they are vital, or your main character you really don't have to OK them with me.
8) Disregard 7.
9) Disregard 8.
10) Most of all just have fun and be nice to eachother...it's really not that complicated, and I'm not really that strict.
PS: Yes, 8 and 9 were just excuses to have 10 rules...
