She scoffed a bit and shook her head. "For too many years I was looked down upon by my family," she said, her tone harsh and bitter. "Beaten for no reason, screamed at for things that had never even crossed my mind to do, blamed for every bit of ill luck that befell us. I had no friends...how could I? It wasn't like we'd stay in a place long and not long after we had gotten to a new town, they'd scream obscenities in my direction and wouldn't even blink before telling everyone they interacted with just how terrible I was. Once I finally received my powers, I had already been hardened and the thirst for revenge took over and I'd laugh as they'd writhe in agony before me. I soon learned to take all my anger out on my brothers, just as they had done to me. That seemed to get me whatever I desired so I used that to my advantage until I finally split from them...however not without several harsh words on my part."

Khast chuckled to himself, "you sound just like my brother. Always up to kick some a--butt". He walked pushed his way through the double doors of The Riders Inn with ease, escorting the two to a table. "I cannot pretend my family life was as horrible as yours, but I was constantly the target of any physical aggression around me. As I was telling Khai here", a motion followed, "My brother seemed to have a knack for angering people, and somehow I always got beat up for it". For the first time Khast looked at Sarai, interest apparent in his facial features. "So, what was it that caused you to be labeled as such a 'bad child'?"

Sarai laughed a bit, however humorlessly. "My mother almost died giving birth to me and on top of that I wasn't male so I was pretty much screwed from the beginning," she replied, sitting down. "He wanted all sons...claimed women were worthless, with the only exception being my mother because someone had to do the cooking and whatnot." She smiled a bit and shook her head. "If only the bastard could see me now...that would teach him a thing or two. Then again, I'd probably get screamed at for not being a 'proper' woman and having a healthy family by now."

"Ahh, the classic gothica family values", Khast said in a mock reminiscent tone. "Well my father died shortly before I was born, so I only had my mother. She was a kind, but strict woman".

" Dude. I don't think you'd be... right.. if you had guys parts.... That's just not right... " Khai said, after being silent for awhile he had decided to join in the conversation. He tended to be an attention whore in most cases. He looked Sarai up and down, " Yeea-no... I usually just want to kill blonde guys... So you're lucky you've got bo--..Erm... Those" He waved his hands up and down in the general direction of Sarai's chest. He looked down. Trying hard not to laugh at the comment he had made.

Sarai glared at Khai, all the friendliness in her eyes gone. "You are a perfect example of why I haven't even wanted to find a husband. All men are the same it seems: either they're open womanizers or it shows through the longer you know them. I'm already on edge and am not in the mood to deal with your bullshit," she said coldly before turning back to Khast. "I personally think I'd make a terrible mother. I have absolutely no patience whatsoever. I'd have little demons for offspring."

Khast laughed fully, which proved to be much different than the chuckles he had displayed earlier. "I can see that. I don't think that I could handle children either. Personally I don't think I'd be strict enough with them". As the server came around, Khast commanded that the group order anything they like, for he believed that the man should pay for the meal. However, he also added a subtle clue that he was not the only man at the table.

Khai looked towards Sarai with the most serious gaze that he's ever shown before infront of mixed company, or a small crowd. It was his war gaze, his hurt gaze, his pensive gaze. It was a look of hatred, although there was nothing about his aura that displayed any distress or anger, nothing about his poise, nothing. The expression which he so thickly placed upon Sarai is perhaps a marvel within it's self to behold. His mouth slowly opened, just barely, and his eyebrow raised slightly, ofcourse these were only to be noticed if his face were to be studied at length. He spoke not a word, simply blinked twice. Then, in an instant returned back to his normal poise and stature. He smiled " Yes, That sounds wonderful Khast!" She laughed lightly, as if nothing happend.

Sarai noticed every detail of Khai's expression yet did nothing in way of apology. Instead, she merely looked at the waitress and ordered cheese fries and a glass of water before looking at Khast once more. "It's so hard to find a patient man," she admitted. "Everyone seems to think the woman should be the patient and nuturing one, but I can't stand kids under age ten or so, and ten is even pushing it. I have a feeling that if I ever do get married, I won't be having any kids."

Khast shrugged half-heartedly, "I don't think I'll ever get married. It's hard to have a family and be in the service...all too often the closer you get to someone the more likely it is that they will be ripped away". He sat, lost in thought for a long while. When Khast finally came back he smiled warmly to everyone. "So, what is it you like to do for fun, Sarai...assumeing it's not torturing others", he winked.

She laughed and shook her head. "If I told you, I'd have to kill you," she said. "No, I really just like reading and playing music...sleeping is quite frequent as well. I'm really a rather boring person when I'm not pissed off or annoyed. Before either of you makes a smart remark, I am rather calm pretty often...it's just work that stresses me to the point of ill-temper. This is honestly the first time I've settled in one place for very long. I'm so used to traveling that I suppose that sort of became an unintentional hobby of mine. How about yourself?"

Khast leaned back in his chair, causing the people in the seat behind him to hunch uncomfortably over their food. "Well. I must say I don't usually have much free time anymore. I do sleep, and I do read (though the things I read I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in), but I seem to spend most of my time on duty". He smiled broadly at the blonde before him, "I guess I'm just a boring person all around".

"You have friends," Sarai pointed out. "You can't be all that boring. I choose to be on duty most of the time because I have nothing else better to do. Everyone thinks of me as some heartless bitch but I'm not easy to get through to and they don't care to try. Personally, I don't think anyone who doesn't try is worth my time and effort. Let them think what they will, aye?"

Khast laughed, "Well...I don't know if you could call them friends. I have Zambi, who seems content to do everything in his power to pi--make me angry. Then there is Khai here. I'm not on bad terms with the lil' guy, but we hardly speak". Khast had a distinct urge to pat Khai on the head, but quickly decided against it. "Other than that there is Kit, who...oh shi---ould I leave a tip?" Khast had stood abruptly, causing his seat to be propelled back several inches. A look of realization spread across his face, he bowed hastily to Sarai, before throwing a handful of money down upon the table. "I forgot about Kit, she should be up by now! We'll have to continue this conversation later. Until next time!!" And he was gone, leaving swinging doors and several uprooted people in his wake.

Khai sat, head down, partially listening to the conversation. But his mind was mainly focused on two little imaginary Khai's... One dressed in white and one in Red, arguing. The Red Khai stomped his foot on the table, " No! You don't get it! He only acted out of instinct, there is nothing wrong with that!" The white Khai threw his hands down exasperated, " You! You are the one who is missing the point! It is all about time and place... And he has chosen to act upon his instincts at the wron time AND place!!" " No! no! NO! It is alright for man to act upon his own will , no matter the time or place!" The little Khai dressed in white walked up to the little Khai in red, and face to face said very quietly ( so as the acual Khai had to lean in towards the table to listen intently to the two invisible people arguing upon the eating utensils) " Okay! I understand that, man acts upon his own free will, ergo he can do and say what he wants. But if the MAN" He threw his hands up to Khai, signifing his stupid comment earlier, "Wants to be successful in his intrests, TIME and PLACE are key!!"
Finally Khai straitened up from the utensils, still looking severely at the fork and knife, " Okay, guys I get it. I pissed her off. What the fuck?" He said aloud, then blushed a bright red, sinking low into his chair and partially under the table, bringing the table clothe to his face, he started laughing quietly at his stupidity once again.
