Fully rested, Sodom was in peak condition, mind and body, so he would have plenty energy to attempt crossing a fair amount of the desert (or so he believed). Taylor did have a point, though, and the boy was more than willing to save that energy for when it was needed.
"Good idea. I spent all of my money on provisions, so you can pay for our rentals," he responded.

Taylor sighed, "Do I have to do everything myself?" A few hours and six ladies laiter they were off. The sun was already setting on the desert horrizon, and dispite Taylor's tired disposition, she rode onward, intent on making the best of the night.

The dark quiet seemed to stretch on for months to the few who had been awake for the past five hours. Namely, Sodom and Christofori. Being Sodom's time on a Desolatortoise, humming to himself was all he could do to keep from panicking as he clutched the reigns for dear life. Being mounted on the same creature, fiddling with his knives was all Christofori could do not to throttle Sodom. Taylor, Aiden, and possabily even the Desolatortoises had passed into sleep.

At first it was not entirely obvious what caused Taylor to awake with a fright. Perhaps it was the grunt of the Desolatortoise she was riding. After silently scanning the horizon, Taylor whispered into the darkness. "It's quiet". Indeed, it was quiet. So quiet, in fact, that the entire caravan could hear her words as though she was right beside them.
Then a great revelation hit the group; there was no life. In the hours that they have been traveling they had not once seen so much as a hint of a creature, plant, or even a rock. An endless sea of sand stretched on forever in every direction.
"Hey! It's snowing!" Sodom had not been paying much attention to Taylors words, for he had been squinting out into the horizon for some time now. Sure enough, as they trudged through the darkness white specs began to coat the riders and their mounts.
*OW* Taylor nearly jumped off of her blanket as the great creature beneath her concluded a great yawn, before burrowing into the sand. "H--HEY!" Taylor stripped the Desolatortoise of all of her belongings just before it disappeared beneath the sand. The rest of the creatures took after Taylors tortoise and each burrowed a tunnel of their own. Mimzey, who had been walking silently beside the caravan perked his ears, sniffing at the sand. Where the giant turtles had been.

Mimzy suddenly broke into a fit of barking and running in circles around Aiden, as though an earthquake were about to hit. Aiden, too, had noticed something that made her worry. She caught on the moment the falling particles began landing on her head. Her hair showed no sign of sparks, nor her skin of bright tinge.
"...This isn't snow, guys..."

A wall of darkness rose quickly on the horizon, bringing with it a sharp wind that cut to the very bone. It would appear that our heros were done for, until suddenly the ground gave way, enveloping every member of the guild at once.
